Pastel Colour Trend

The hottest look for 2018 and 2019

Dreamy Hues and Sophisticated Shades

The industry is having a love affair with pastel and the kaleidoscope colour is dominating the trends for summer 18/19. Pretty shades of lavenders and dusky violets, millennial pinks and pastel sunsets are the perfect option for the dreamy look.  These tones will eventually fade to leave a beautiful blonde behind making this trend a low maintenance option.

Glamour Hair Boutique stylists and clients are having such fun with these shades. You will see these looks scattered throughout our instagram and rocked by our stylists. If you are wanting a fun change up for your locks this year, have a chat with us about the colour option to suit you. Read further about the colour range on offer below.

Millennial Pinks

Millennial pink is not just one colour, but a collection of pinks. Ranging from pink to salmon, peach to rose and a pink-gold hybrid.

The Glamour Hair Boutique stylists are loving in particular a blush rose quartz shade. This more neutral pink is still dominating the trend and is simply pastel toning perfection!

Amethyst Purples

Amethyst to lilac ombre balayage is created using a mix of shades. Deeper smokey Amethyst colour closer to the scalp, colour melting out to brighter lilac ends. This colour is ideal for people with a neutral pink skin tone.

Matching your makeup and clothing to your new purple palette should be fun. Keep the colour wheel in mind when matching, but there are no rules. These shades can be accentuated beautifully with complementary colours of yellows, golds, pinks, blues, and silvers.

Ocean Blues

Ocean blue hair is making a statement on Instagram with the likes of Kim Kardashian sporting silvery blue hair. With close to 18000 tags #oceanhair is one of the biggest trends for hair inspo.

Stylists paint on streaks of varying shades of blue, periwinkle, teal, and hints of aqua to create the look. The colour placement creates movement that mimics the ocean.

Mint Greens

Minty green pastel hair has arrived for a feminine play on a punk rock look. When girly pinks aren’t your jam, try minty greens for a bold, moody look.

This colour should be rocked with confidence. No need to match with outfits, just let your fresh green spirit flag fly.

Maintaining your colour

The trick to keeping colour longer is to condition the hair. Colour is only ever as good as the hair underneath, so maintaining your colour with Schwarzkopf PH balancing colour care range or Blondeme sulphate free shampoo is one of our favourite approaches. Our best bet for lustrous colour is the Olaplex fibreplex or Fibre force treatments which when done monthly, is our top tip to creating the most amazing healthy hair.
